The rule of universities world wide is for all scientific staff to hold a PhD degree. However, many universities still find it difficult to fulfil this requirement. To assist in this institutional upgrading effort the Growth and Employment Platform offers four 3years PhD scholarships for each of it's for four partner universities in Africa.

All candidates are selected through a joint screening process. The PhD students are enrolled at home with the main supervisor from their own institution and with a co-supervisor from Denmark. Each student can go for studies and courses in Denmark for a maximum of 10 months within the three years period.
